Three New, Young Republican Candidates Step Forward in Lamoille County
The Lamoille County Republican Committee is pleased to announce that three highly engaged young Republicans have stepped forward to run for legislative seats. Shayne Spence, Tyler Machia, and Ferron Wambold announced together on May 1 that they will running a campaign to Restore Rural Vermont.
Shayne Spence (26) is running in the Lamoille 2 district (Belvedere, Hyde Park, Johnson, and Wolcott). Shayne is a graphic design and video editor and community leader who works on several local boards, including the Johnson Town Planning Commission, Johnson Works, and Johnson Town Coordinator for Green Up Day.
Ferron Wambold (32) is running in the Lamoille 3 district (Cambridge and Waterville). Ferron is the Executive Director at Orange County Special Investigations Unit/Child Advocacy Center, and formerly served as a corporal in the Lamoille County Sherriff’s Department.
Tyler Machia (30) is running in the Lamoille-Washington district (Elmore, Morristown, Woodbury, Worcester). Tyler brings years of experience working in rural Vermont and, in his job as a political/policy consultant has a detailed knowledge of the workings of state government. As a new parent to baby Theo, Tyler understands intimately the challenges facing young families living and working in Lamoille County.
We are excited by these young candidates and the campaigns they are going to run - campaigns based on ideas designed to benefit Vermonters. Whether it is Ferron’s experience protecting children from abuse, Tyler’s commitment to opening up new and better opportunities for young families, or Shayne’s personal experience with addiction and recovery, these three bring new perspectives and energy to the Republican Party, and, most importantly, to the communities which they aim to serve.
We are proud of these three and hope their commitment will inspire others around Vermont to join them in running for office as this is the only way we have any hope of turning our beloved state around!
