Montpelier, VT – As Americans and Vermonters, we owe a deep debt of gratitude to the thousands of Veterans — including Vermonters — who have served our country to protect and defend freedom. We pause on Veterans’ Day once a year to remember their sacrifice, honor their service and express our sincere thanks.

However, our thankfulness and debt of gratitude are not limited to this one day. We enjoy the benefits of freedom — benefits our veterans fought and sacrificed for — every day that we are blessed to live in America. Likewise, every day we must remember those who have given so much of themselves to give this precious gift to us.

To those who have gone before us and those who are serving today — and to their families and loved ones who share in their sacrifice — we extend our deepest thanks and appreciation.

Thank you and God bless you.
