LIKE HER MENTOR,
SUE MINTER WILL SAY ANYTHING TO WIN
“It gets more obvious every day why Sue Minter is Peter Shumlin’s hand-picked successor. Minter is just like Shumlin, she’ll say anything to win. But perhaps we should expect that from someone who exploits the Irene recovery, while exaggerating the role she played in it as well as the scope of her leadership experience overall.
“Just weeks ago Minter swore to voters that gun control would be her top priority. Now, in an effort to distract from the consequences of her party’s failed economic and fiscal policies, she’s promising to address the economy and create more jobs.
“Setting aside the fact that she has no plan to do so — and that all of her other ideas require higher costs on working families and businesses — her insincere commitment to growing the economy and creating jobs (which is also in complete conflict with her voting record) is obviously just an election gimmick meant to deceive voters who know her party’s policies are driving up the cost of living faster than growth in our paychecks.
“It’s as if Minter expects us all to forget that she and Peter Shumlin had six years to ‘get Vermont’s economy working.’”
JUST WEEKS AGO…
MINTER FIRST SWORE GUN CONTROL WAS HER TOP PRIORITY

SHE WAS EVEN ‘STAKING HER CANDIDACY’ ON THE ISSUE
“Now, with less than three weeks remaining before Vermont’s gubernatorial primary, (Minter) is staking her candidacy on the controversial issue. In a television advertisement released Wednesday, Democrat Sue Minter ties firearms to domestic violence and pledges to take on ‘the gun lobby.’” (Source: Seven Days, With Focus on Guns, Minter Seeks to Separate Herself From the Pack, July 21st, 2016. AND MINTER’S CHOICE OF GUN CONTROL AS HER TOP PRIORITY ‘SEPARATES HER FROM THE PACK’
“As for efforts to distinguish themselves from one another, Mr. Dunne has tried to identify as the person closest to the Bernie Sanders philosophy. Mr. Galbraith touts himself as the one most able to take on corporate America with specific proposals as to how his proposals can be accomplished. And Sue Minter has picked guns. That is certainly one way to separate yourself from the pack. She says gun control will be her top priority as governor.” (Source: Emerson Lynn, Guest Editorial, Minter’s call for gun control separates her from the pack, Addison Independent, July 27th, 2016. MINTER AD DECEPTIVELY CLAIMS A NEW “TOP” PRIORITY
“Getting the economy working for Vermont families is my number one priority.” (Source: Sue Minter, Television Ad, September 13th, 2016)
