Vermont Republican Party Details Gov. Shumlin’s Legacy of Unaffordability

Berlin, Vt. – The Vermont Republican Party today released a new web video highlighting recent comments from Sue Minter, praising her boss for leaving a “proud legacy,” and taking a closer look at the legacy Gov. Shumlin is actually leaving.

“There’s now no doubt Sue Minter is a carbon copy of Peter Shumlin, and her recent remarks showcase her pride in being part of an Administration that consistently demonstrated fiscal irresponsibility and made Vermont unaffordable for many. Her remarks, record and proposals show she’ll follow in the footsteps of her boss, whose work she praises as leaving a ‘proud legacy.’ That statement comes despite an anemic economy, a growing crisis of affordability and their Administration’s work to increase state spending at twice the rate of economic growth and more than twice the rate of wage growth. We’re confident Vermonters have a vastly different view of Peter Shumlin’s legacy and Sue Minter’s efforts to protect and advance it. Vermonters know the policies of the past aren’t going to be the solutions of the future, and that it’s time for a change,” said Jeff Bartley, executive director of the Vermont Republican Party.
