Emails From Governor Shumlin

Email from Governor Shumlin’s Campaign sent to registered lobbyist April 6, 2011

Dear ,

Thanks to your support, Vermont is on the path towards a more affordable, simple and universal health care system!  The Vermont House has passed a version of my administration’s proposed legislation (H. 202) and the bill is now before the Senate.  H.202 will control health care costs, cover all Vermonters, reduce waste and simplify our complex health care system.

The special interests who benefit from our broken system are already hard at work lobbying against reform.  They are doing everything they can to stop our progress, and are hoping that I won’t be around in two years to finish the job we are starting.  Please make a contribution now to help us ensure we can complete this process and provide affordable health care for all Vermonters!

While the rest of the country is fighting against Obama’s health care reform efforts, in Vermont we are improving them by designing a single payer system!  Just last week, our efforts were applauded by MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow!

Vermonters cannot afford to pay a million dollars a day more than we did the day before on health care.  It is breaking the backs of our hard working families and small businesses.  My proposed health care bill creates the Green Mountain Board that will implement cost containment measures and make health care more affordable for all Vermonters.

These are critical first steps that create the foundation of a single payer system. But there will be more work ahead to ensure that by 2014 all Vermonters have access to affordable, quality health care. Please contribute $10, $50 or even $100 to turn this goal into a reality!

Thank you for all of your support!  With your help we will ensure that health care in Vermont is a right and not just a privilege.

My Best,

Governor Peter Shumlin

Email from Governor Shumlin’s Campaign sent to registered lobbyists April 18, 2011

Dear ,

I’m always proud to be a Vermonter – but last week as I sat in the Oversight and Government Reform committee room in Washington DC and watched Governor Shumlin testify in front of Congress on behalf of hardworking Vermonters, my pride reached a new level.

Countering Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, Governor Shumlin let those in Congress know that our fire fighters, law enforcement officers and state employees are NOT to blame for our fiscal crisis.

Governor Shumlin is not just fighting for labor rights – he is standing up for all of Vermont’s hard working families. Please contribute $10, $50, or $100 today to ensure we have a leader who will always fight for a strong middle class.

Instead of focusing his efforts on breaking unions, Governor Shumlin has worked together with union leaders and politicians from both sides of the aisle to find budget savings.  Vermont has a proud tradition of working together in order to solve the tough issues our state faces, and Governor Shumlin has proven that he will continue to work respectfully with all parties involved to keep our state on sound fiscal ground.  Help keep this tradition alive by contributing $10, $50 or $100 right now!

As the President of the Professional Fire Fighters of Vermont I have seen firsthand how Governor Shumlin works tirelessly for Vermont’s middle class. He understands that maple syrup works better than vinegar and that working together is the Vermont way.  Let’s stand together and support Governor Shumlin!

Thank you for your support.

Matthew Vinci

I hope that this makes the news wire, we know the WCAX probable won’t run it but maybe Kristen Karlson won’t be so Left Winged in her report if they do? Ha Ha

I can hear it now, “We Knew it was wrong but our side is so right and the middle class of Vermont won’t mind if a law is broken to get the message out that our Governor and the Democratic party has wisdom that can not be put down due to a silly law.”

I’m shocked (but not surprised) that this has happened.

Hey Jeff didn’t you read the letter to Shumlin?
“We believe that on at least two occasions you have violated Title 2 section 266 of Vermont’s campaign finance law by soliciting contributions during the legislative session from registered lobbyists.”
This is what happens when a Republican doesn’t stand up for his own election count and make sure that every Vermonter who votes has a voice in Vermont government !

The votes in the last election might as well have all come from ACORN or its Vermont offshoot. Especially on the completely unfathomable “constitutional amendment” to let 17 year olds vote in primaries. Vermont will never see another level headed candidate win in future elections again. THANKS REPUBLICRATS !
I never saw this issue raised in any campaign, but I know the damage letting even less informed public highschool students vote in the primaries will do.
If anyone is surprised by this move by Shumlin they should be slapped hard until the double vision stops. Do you really think this is funny Vermont ??? Just another “mistake” that you’re going to let THEM get away with ?
I’ve had enough !
