Welcome Winter Gala

Thank you to all who attended the Welcome Winter Gala on December 11th with Gov. Chris Christie of New Jersey. We had a fantastic turnout, enjoyed a great meal, and heard an inspiring and invigorating message from Gov. Christie. Those in the room could feel the energy and there were smiles and encouraging words shared that evening and in dozens of notes and e-mails since then. This was our most successful fundraising event in decades and we very much appreciate the leadership of Lt. Governor Phil Scott and Rep. Heidi Scheuermann (R-Stowe) for making this event so successful. There were many others who played a critical role in the success of this event and our deep gratitude goes out the them as well.

If you were unable to attend, you can see and hear his speech here (captured by an audience member via cell phone):

This event was a great launch for the new Vermont Republican Party, but it was only the beginning and we need your continued partnership as we move forward with the work to restore balance and common sense leadership in Montpelier. If you missed my letter to our supporters following the event, you can read it now here.

House Speaker Stacks Health Care Committee

This week Brent Burns, VTGOP Political Director, penned this statement related to House Speaker Shap Smith’s (D-Moretown) outrageous and unnecessary replacement of John Mitchell (R-Fairfax) on the House Health Care Committee with yet another hand picked Democrat. This further solidifies the “rubber stamp” mission of this committee and lessens the chance of any balanced, and common sense debate about Vermont’s health care future. You can read Brent’s statement here.

Fiscal Crisis in Montpelier

House Republican Leader Don Turner (R-Milton) wrote an Op/Ed this week that clearly and effectively reported the dangerous fiscal position of our state resulting from reckless spending policies by the super-majority in Montpelier. You can read Rep. Turner’s editorial here.

Vermont Republicans have positive and forward looking solutions to the problems our state is facing. By restoring balance to the lop sided super-majority in Montpelier, we can bring about the change that Vermonters deserve and demand. You can help us right now! Please follow this link and make a donation of ANY size to help us make that vision a reality.
